Dynamic Mercy is an annual, combined and joint Search and Rescue (SAR) exercise coordinated by NATO and open to NATO partners, which is conducted in an area extending from the east coast of Canada to the eastern Baltic Sea. On alternate years it focuses between the Atlantic and the Baltic. The upcoming Dynamic Mercy is scheduled for May 1 to 13, 2017. Mercy enables military, civilian rescue coordination centres and mobile SAR units to practice synthetic SAR scenarios to enhance cross regional cooperation and response in the event of an actual emergency.
