Allied Maritime Command chaired and took part in the NATO Naval Mine Warfare Conference (NNMWC) from 22 to 24 June 2021.

The conference was conducted virtually and provided a forum to share information and knowledge concerning naval mine warfare.

The conference was chaired by Commander Surface Forces NATO, Commodore Jeanette Morang. It was hosted from the Naval Mine Warfare Center of Excellence at Oostende, Belgium.

The theme of the conference was "Stronger together: Opportunities and challenges in new Naval Mine Warfare developments."

The theme of the conference was "Stronger together: Opportunities and challenges in new Naval Mine Warfare developments." In many countries, the transition from WWII era legacy systems to state-of-the-art "systems of systems", largely relying on unmanned or autonomous vehicles has been started.

The conference included contributions and participations from military as well as industries and research organizations. 118 individuals participated in the conference bringing together most of the NATO alliance navies and partner's navies, oceanographic and scientific entities, Defence industry as well as energy representatives (Oil, gas, windfarm industries).

The conference allowed all participants to update their knowledge on existing programs but also to network with industry, research, and partners in the domain of underwater survey, detection, identification and disposal of underwater objects.
