NATO Operations Policy Committee Visit MARCOM

NORTHWOOD, UK – Yesterday, NATO Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) welcomed the NATO Operations Policy Committee (OPC), led by the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations at NATO Headquarters, Mr. Michel Soula.

The focus of the OPC visit was to update Mr. Soula and the committee on MARCOM’s operations and exercises.   The visitors received briefings and a tour of MARCOM’s Maritime Operations Centre.  The counter-piracy portion of the discussion included a situational awareness briefing by the European Union Naval Force on their counter-piracy Operation ATALANTA.

"We welcomed the opportunity to inform national delegations and the International Staff,” said Vice Admiral Paulmier.  "Yesterday’s activity provided valuable opportunities for discussion, while illustrating the broad scope of engagement by this maritime headquarters.”
