MARCOM Hosts Allied Command Transformation Deputy Chief of Staff

NORTHWOOD, UK – Yesterday, the Allied Command Transformation (ACT) Deputy Chief of Staff Joint Force Trainer, Vice Admiral Javier Gonzalez-Huix (ESP N), paid a visit to NATO Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) to discuss training and exercise matters with MARCOM’s Commander, Vice Admiral Peter Hudson.

During the visit, Vice Admiral Gonzalez-Huix was briefed on MARCOM planning efforts for Exercise TRIDENT JEWEL 2015, MARCOM’s certification exercise on the road to Full Operational Capability (FOC).  The discussion also covered planning for Exercise TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2015, followed by a roundtable discussion on training collaboration efforts and other aspects of maritime training.

"Our activities within the maritime component of Allied Command Operations require close coordination with Allied Command Transformation,” said Vice Admiral Hudson.  "ACT plays a critical role in ensuring that we strive for constant improvement of our maritime capabilities and enhance our readiness and interoperability with Allies, partner nations, and international organizations.”

Prior to taking his current assignment with ACT, Vice Admiral Gonzalez-Huix supported numerous NATO operations, including counter-terrorism Operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR in the Mediterranean and assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at MC Naples, Italy, during which time he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations CTF-455 for Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR.
