COVID-19 testing can identify the SARS-CoV-2 virus and includes methods that a) detect the presence of virus itself and b) those that detect antibodies produced in response to infection.
Military personnel, or their household, from other nations who are serving in the UK are now eligible for the COVID-19 test, just like the UK military. ) by calling number 119 or GOV UK specific website; have an appointment in 24h and the test result between 2-5 days.
The people having a positive test to the COVID19 infection can spread virus.
For people sick or having household sick, it is very important to do a test, firstly to detect in early phase COVID 19 infection and consequently implement Self Isolation measures (positive cases) but also treat appropriately the others (negative cases).
For people returning from abroad or having Households returning from abroad, the test is not able to reduce quarantine of 14 days because this period is only related to the potential incubation (time before the virus could produce infection). The test in these cases could be useful only at the end of 14 days of Self Isolation.
IF YOU OR YOUR HOUSEHOLD ARE TESTED COVID 19 POSITIVE
Stay at least 2 metres (about 3 steps) away from other people in your home whenever possible
Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water
Stay away from vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions as much as possible
IF TRAVEL ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO USE OFF PEAK TIME AND WEAR PPE
Due to an increase on mobility, it is now advise that people MUST wear a FACE-COVERING in ENCLOSED SPACES (CROWED AREA) where social distancing is not always possible, for example on PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
Some of MARCOM personell who have to do essential defense duties, can have exemption to Self Isolate returning from abroad. The essential duties have to be identified at minimum of COS level, who will provide a special travel order for these personnel.
Everyone who has finished his period of Self Isolation (for any reason), before returning to the Headquarters must ask permission from the MEDAD.
