Dynamic Manta 2017

Dynamic Manta is one of two annual NATO-led maritime Anti-Submarine Warfare interoperability exercises. Manta is conducted in the Mediterranean and the other ASW exercise, Dynamic Mongoose, is conducted in the North Atlantic region. The aim of this exercise is to provide all participants with complex and challenging warfare training to enhance their interoperability and proficiency in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare skills.

Dynamic Manta is scheduled for March 13 to 25, 2017 and will have the participation of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2, Task Unit U02 (SNMG2 TU02). Hosted by Italy the exercise will be conducted in the vicinity of Catania. Between March 12 and 14, the exercise will have a dedicated media program which will include visits to submarines, maritime patrol aircrafts and surface units and a press conference on board SNMG2 TU02 flagship ESPS Mendez Nunez.

Exercise DYNAMIC MANTA 2019, an anti-submarine warfare exercise, is underway in the central Mediterranean Sea.  Equipment and personnel from 10 NATO nations are taking part.
